Hangovers make me a sad panda.  Well worth it, though... last night's party was pretty sweet.  They actually had a guy spinning records... in the bedroom!  It was tiiiight.  I danced a bit, drank plenty, and met a bunch of people.  I usually know most of the people at my friend's parties, but for a change I only knew like 3 people when I first got there.  I enjoy being in situations like that, because it sort'a gives me the option to either sit on my ass, or get up and meet people.  I always choose the latter.  Lots more friends showed up as the night went on, though... and we did a couple alcohol runs, so we weren't ever dry for long.  :)

My best friend Jordan, who is not at all a party animal, came up here from San Jose to join me as well.  That was definitely nice... but what surprised me is that he can play Dance Dance Revolution!  Apparently his roommate at San Jose State University got the game and a soft mat to dance on, so he busted out 75 cents at the arcade and actually was able to survive some songs on Basic mode!  I think Drop Out on Maniac sort'a looked evil to him, though... it's 260 beats per minute, and not exactly simple.  *grin*

This headache needs to go away.  Anyhow, I'm off to have lunch in Jordan's to teach the guy HTML.  It'll be a lot easier for him to get a computer-related job over the summer if he knows it.  If anyone reading this wants lessons, don't be afraid to ask me... even if you don't know me well.  Oh, and I wouldn't dream of charging anyone here for it either... I enjoy teaching, I enjoy HTML, and I enjoy teaching HTML.  ;)  Seriously though, it'd be nice to do something for you peeps... and I know how HTML like the back of my hand.

Let me know... even though I don't really know a number of you as well as I'd like, I might get the chance to know you better that way.  If you're on my friends list, I at least find you very interesting.  Please don't ever hesitate to get in touch with me if you need any advice, someone to talk to, help with something, or just about anything.  I'm never too busy to help a friend.  :)

...you seem really, really sweet.  Thanks for adding me to your AOL Instant Messenger list... I appreciate that, and I'll look for you there when I'm able to get on.  To answer your question, I'll be 23 at the end of this month.  If you don't want to wait until I manage to find the time to pop onto AIM, feel free to e-mail me any time with any other questions you have for me.  :)

... there are things I've done once, and vowed I'd never do again. Undertaking a magical hangover quest is one of those things. Whilst in Japan, one of our number had to leave for home early, so we threw her a massive going-away blowout, complete with three full-size fridges of beer, a makeshift beer bong, and nowhere near enough idiot gaijin college students to drink it all. I had more than was really healthy, and was on my way to bed when one of the other foreign students asked if I wanted to help him drink a fifth of Jack Daniels he picked up in the city. So we sat down and, between the two of us, a two-liter of Coke, and an hour, finished the entire fifth as we yakked on about Robert Jordan novels and such.

I woke up the next morning more dead than alive. I shambled back to my apartment, went through three 1-liter bottles of vitamin drinks, stayed as FAR away from bright light as I could, and vowed over and over that I'd never touch any form of alcohol ever again, EVER.

Then I decided to make the best of a bad situation, and practiced my zombie gurgles and feasted on brains of the living. Tasty stuff, brains.

Oh yeah- finally got around to adding you to the ol' Friends list ^_-.

Re: Y'know...
One thing I learned after having a few beers with a nutritionist... you can beat a hangover, if you're well prepared.  You're already on the right track with the vitamin drinks, as that's a huge cause of the pain you endure as the alcohol leaves your system... along with those vitamins... but one of the main ones is potassium.  Get some fruit and vitamins/vitamin drinks ready, and try to eat it that same night.  Also eat/drink that stuff as soon as you awaken, with water of course.  Bananas are an absolutely ideal source of potassium, by the way... so if you know you'll be drinking, you can be prepared.  Hell... for a time, I started carrying vitamin packs with me when I went out drinking.  Worked like a charm.  :)

Regardless of all I just said, I am really really sorry you went through such a nightmare that next day.  I can't imagine how badly you must've felt... I've never had a hangover quite as epic as yours.  I couldn't drink that much alcohol... I've only come close once, and you probably don't want to hear about that.  *lol*

Re: koniyaniyanichiwa!
Good to hear from you, Jess!  Thanks for saying hewwo.  You met someone at A-kon that reminded you of me?  *lol*  Was he well-endowed in the hair department... or perhaps he was wearing Squall's Griever pendant?  :)  Oh... that reminds me, did you get the chance to meet Tony in person yet?

I'm so with you...
I never used to get hangovers (well except for an incident with some 95% pure ethanol and lime soda) but in karaoke-box whiskey I have met my match. I invariably end up doing something ridiculous - the first time, it was inviting a drunk japanese guy back to my house to practice my japanese and then locking him out when he got fresh, and the second time I found myself naked in the Kamo river in the middle of Kyoto at 4am. Then the next twelve hours is spent with the shoji firmly closed and moving very slowly and carefully...

Actually, it could be worse... one guy at Nova (my english school) once threw up on a student... there but for the grace of god... :)

Re: I'm so with you...
*laughs*  You sound like a lot of fun.  My alcoholic bane is Goldschlager... that stuff always knocks me on my ass.  It always seems like it's not hitting me, so I drink too much of it... and then suddenly I'm totally wasted.  I have a certain reverence for the stuff now, and sort'a warn anyone I know who I see drinking it.  It's the only alcohol I know of that can get me totally wasted without having to drink like 8 shots of it... or perhaps I'm having so much fun drinking it every time that I lose track.  ;)
