What a day...

My cellular phone's been dead for a whole day now.  I visited Justin's ProfileJustin in Petaluma the other day, and couldn't find a bag I brought there with me when I was leaving late at night.  Justin found it later, though... to try and work out a way for us to meet up so he could leave it with me... but nothing ever worked out, and I feel really cut off from my friends right now.  I can't retrieve any text messages from it or anything... all I can do is sporadically check voice mail.  If you've been calling me and getting very few rings along with no answer, this is why.

My plans to see The Two Towers yesterday turned into a highly arduous quest for tickets.  Both Grace's ProfileGrace and Jordan's ProfileJordan can attest to that, I assure you.  Okay, so here's what happened.  Jordan had pre-purchased three tickets... one for himself, one for my other best friend Sylvan, and one for me.  I waited patiently at Grace's house for Jordan to pick me up... but an hour went by, and then another.  Soon, it was less than 15 minutes before the start of the movie we had tickets for... and Jordan was still a no-show.  This really pissed me off... and as my cellular phone was totally dead, I couldn't really anticipate when Jordan might leave me a message.

So, I called Sylvan (thankfully, he had left me a voice mail with which I could retrieve his number) and found out Jordan had gotten stuck in an insane amount of traffic.  Sylvan made the right choice, and scalped both Jordan's and my tickets... and joined some other friends he had met up with at the movie instead.  Jordan finally arrived 20 minutes after the start of the movie, quite apologetic (though it wasn't his fault) and then Grace joined us on a quest to find another theater that wasn't totally sold out.  After hitting like 5 theaters and being unable to secure tickets before 8pm (as I had work at 11pm), we finally worked out a way to see the movie at the Metreon.

Unfortunately, the saga didn't end there... a fire alarm went off on the third floor, where they were showing the movie.  I was very afraid that we'd be sent away and not get to see the movie, as they had evacuated people from the theaters mid-movie... but thankfully, they cleared everything up and only delayed our showtime by 20 minutes.  Lots of little things have been going wrong for me lately, and they've all been coming together in odd ways.  :(  I'm just thankful that nothing really bad has happened yet.

Ah well, time to go see Erwin's ProfileErwin before he leaves for classes.  He's going to be in Indonesia for a month, and I shall miss him greatly.
