*evil grin*

I'm at a friend's place right now, and I scanned this friend's computer for bad stuff. It finds software that tracks where you go on the Web, stuff that causes advertisements to show up, and lots more. I was so amused at the result of the scans that I actually took and cropped some screenshots of it. If you can guess which of my friends it is, I'll give you a LiveJournal invite code or something. You only get ONE guess. :)

Say WHAT???

Um, PLEASE remove them? Pretty please? ;)

The other computer in the room had 611 naughty objects to remove. *lol* SO scary...!!!

Ouch!
*lol* Meg probably has like ten times as much crap on her computer... I'm not at her place. By the way, I wonder if her Sprint PCS cellular phone is still disconnected... I finally start trying to call her, and she freakin' can't take my calls! Bwahaha! :)

I have no idea whose comp that is but...
Check your email?

LOL When I first ran that (my ex and I were sharing a computer) I had almost a thousand "interesting" items to remove.

But anyway, check your email. I lost my cell so I can't call you...

Nope... sorry, it's not Erin. I've yet to enter her front door. I hear that her parents are paranoid of the male humans. ;)

Rar!
Yours is quite appropriate for this post as well, gorgeous. By the way, I've concluded that you're virtually impossible to get in touch with by phone. That makes me a saaaaaad panda. If there's a specific time that I should be calling you, I'd love to hear it. Have you ever received any of my voice mail messages in the past...?

475 objects... YOU'RE AT MY HOUSE, AREN'T YOU?! Dammit, Chris, GET OFFA MY COMPUTER.

Kidding, kidding. Reminds me of the last time I scanned the folks' system for ad/spyware- returned an unbelievable 604 results. Most were just cookies and such, but they also had every incarnation of the Gator spyware shitware on their system, along with tons of crap from iWon.com, which unfortunately Mom still uses with religious fervor.

Thanks for reminding me that *I* need to run a scan on my machine - It's been a while, and I wonder if there's any goodies on here since last time.

Actually...
...the arcade was really busy last night. Hannah even came in! It was so cool! By the way, I started a The Starbase Arcade Community's ProfileStarbase LiveJournal community as well. I haven't promoted it in the slightest (and in fact, you're the second person who even has heard a word about it)... but I guess I'll post about it and promote it when I get around to setting it up completely. Feel free to join it, if you're bored enough to do so. :)

Spybot Search and Destroy is a MUCH better program for that sort of thing than Ad-Aware...just so you know..

Spybot S&D is SO excellent, in fact, that it completely nuked my modem driver, which never did no harm to nobody.

It's one of those "your mileage may vary" applications, I suppose. Thought I'd pipe in with a bit of counterpoint.

I still haven't properly thanked my friend Tarpo for sending me the URL to install Adaware. It's helped me get a lot of crap off this computer. Thankfully, my computer has never been as bad as what's his/her face up there--even though I probably have had over 611 naughty objects on it at one point. Gotta love ten.com. :D

That userpic is so marvelously soothing...*continues staring*

Sheeeze, that's like the time I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy on my brother's system. He had everything under the sun on his machine: Malware, Spyware, XXX Dialers. It's a damn good thing his sister has an eye out for these things! @_@
